ACTIVE DUTY DATE: June 4, 2016
Troops Deployed: 2,000/2,000
Mission Accomplished: Still Active
Army of Green Men and #QuaidsARMY have found ourselves fortunate enough to help yet another cause in need of attention. We are now pledging our alliance and support to #AshersARMY.
In September 2015, Asher Nichols, a beloved son to Amy and Charlie Nichols, lost his battle to the many illnesses he had overcome for three years. Asher’s story of strength & courage continued to inspire others well after his passing – especially a stranger 567 miles away, Rob Spence. Rob became so enthralled with Asher’s story, that he took it upon himself to take action & come up with a way to honor Asher’s life.
On June 4th, 2016, Rob and five other people walked 567 miles from Bolton, Ontario to Lexington, Kentucky to raise $10,000 for The Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky (DSACK) in honor of Asher Nichols. https://www.gofundme.com/AshersWalk
Proudly serving families and community members of Central Kentucky since 1993, DSACK was created by a small group of parents who envisioned better opportunities for their children with Down Syndrome. Today, they are pleased to provide many programs and services to surrounding families, schools and medical professionals.
Army of Green Men is here to help promote and support Rob Spence in his endeavor to honor Asher and raise funds for DSACK. They requested that #QuaidsARMY join them for their journey. We did one better. We introduce to you, #AshersARMY. Join #AshersARMY and help bring world wide attention to Asher and all of those who suffer from Down Syndrome.
